Deccan Charger’s Dan Christian scored a quick fire unbeaten 30 which included five hits to the boundaries to ensure Australia reach a commanding total 288 for 5 in there stipulated 50 over’s at CB Series at Brisbane, Australia. Christian and David Hussey were involved in a 65 run unbeaten partnership of the last 6 over’s which helped Australia reached a formidable score. Both the batsmen where harsh on Pathan and Kumar who struggled to find there length in the depth over’s. Australia set a challenging total of 289 runs for India after losing their last two games.
India who ousted Australia in their previous encounter struggled against the pace of Bret Lee and Ben Hilfenhaus who ran through the Indian top order claiming 4 wickets for 36 runs. Wickets falling at regular intervals put a brake on India scores allowing the Aussie bowler’s to gain the upper hand.
Showing very little resistance to the Australian pace attack, Dhoni and Raina contributed a 46 run partnership for the fifth wicket before Raina falling for a disciplined delivery from Dan Christian. Christian maintained a tidy line and length giving very little room for the Indian batsmen. Brought back into the attack Hilfenhaus ran through the middle and lower order dismissing the Indian batsman for a paltry 178.
