Farewell to IPL with a bang
The final IPL match in Hyderabad this season had cricket fanatics turning up in droves at the Rajiv Gandhi International Cricket Stadium on Sunday. Braving the extreme heat, the vociferous fans cheered the home team Deccan Chargers vehemently. The whole stadium was decked in bright red and blue; the colours of both the teams playing. Coming off with a win in their last game, the Chargers had many hopes riding on them and a carnival like atmosphere prevailed in the stadium.
Ashish Pandey said, “I really wanted to catch the Deccan Chargers’ last match. Many Royal Challengers’ supporters from Bengaluru have also come to Hyderabad for the match.” Another fan Rohit J. said, “I am especially here to watch the ‘Gayle Storm’. Duminy has performed well this time.”
Sneha Reddy came to watch the match and see how Chris Gayle would handle Steyn. “I am a fan of both Dale Steyn and Chris Gayle. I’m hoping that Dale gets Chris out, and I’m waiting to watch them play against each other,” she said. The audience was also looking forward to the final leg of the Super Six Series scheduled after the match. Cameron White had earlier announced that Chris Lynn and Manpreet Gony would represent the Deccan Chargers.
