Deccan Chargers Right handed batsman Akshath Reddy scored a cracking unbeaten century to help his team defeat Kerala today in the first game of the Inter State One day League (Vijay Hazare Trophy) played at Bangalore. His splendid innings of 110* from 104 deliveries included 13 boundaries which took the game away from Kerala. Akshath’s innings ensured Hyderabad maintained its required run rate by scoring briskly and piercing boundaries at regular intervals.

Kerala who posted a challenging target of 266 runs, in which Deccan Chargers' Ashish Reddy took the bowling honors with 2/51 in 9 ovs. Kerala threatened Hyderabad by knocking the top three batsmen, however Akshath maintained a cool temperament and build vital partnerships with fellow teammate Ahmed Quadri and Ibrahim Khaleel who also scored an impressive half century.

The game which went down to the wire was full of surprises as Hyderabad lost quick wickets at the closing stage of match. Riding on his Ranji Trophy form where he scored four centuries, Akshath ensured Hyderabad reached its required target with two wickets to spare.
