Gilly hopes to make it to CLT20
Crashing out in the semifinals as defending champions surely hurts but Deccan Chargers skipper Adam Gilchrist believes the very fact that they made it to the last four has indeed been an achievement.
Not necessarily the strongest line-up in terms of the local quotient, the Chargers ran up five victories on the trot to storm into the semis before going down to the Chennai Super Kings on Thursday night.
The Chargers’ skipper is now ready for a final flourish against the team they beat in last year’s final, the Royal Challengers Bangalore, and asserts they will go all out to qualify for the Champions League with the third-place winner joining the two finalists. “Obviously, we are disappointed but want to be part of the Champions League. It was nice to be part of it last year, our team would love to be part of it again,” said Gilly adding, “So, still plenty on there, and, overall, as far as the tournament goes I am extremely pleased with the guys to have made it to the semifinals.”
