The opening partnership should be Gilly with afridi or gibbs. Both of them have to play a sensible innings batting first or second dosen't matter. both of them at least have to play some overs coolly not getting too aggressive, obviously there will be pressure against team.

the best openers are those with technically sound and at the same time strikers of the ball.afridi is not technically and temparament sound so he gets out early if he is an opener.like hayden ,smith ,sachin and sehwag we dont have a technically sound at the same time striker in our side.gibbs too is a failure as a opener.the best opening hyderabad can have is Scott Styris and gilchrist.the line up could be as follows
