chargeup for IPL 2009
It was bad luck for chargers in this season of IPL but we enjoyed all your games and most of the matches we lost in the final over.It is something the team to understand why our team is loosing and how other teams are winning.
We have the best batting line up of all the teams but very inconsistent.
Afridi should have some patience while batting, but he did good job in bowling and in field.
Gilchrist has done his best but its the overall team performance which is a big failure
For next IPL season DC should pickup some good wicket taking bowlers and learn to bowl intelligently during the crucial overs.
Over all DC is lacking in all the sections of 20-20 format and I hope Hyderabadis will see a improved team for next IPL series.
One more suggestion to DC,Please change the colour of the dress ..it looks very dull and unimpressive.Try to use the dark colours like the other teams have.

well rightly said afridi
well rightly said afridi shld be ask for open the batting with Gilly n
i think 1 bowler is required in the pace attack with RPSingh, he shld have variations to suit indian pitches
n moreover shld hve experience while bowlin in the depth, acc tr o me here r some bowlers :
1 James Anderson(if available)
2 Nathen Bracken (if available)
3 Mitchel Johnson
4 Rana naved- ul(from pak)
5 Shane Bond
PLEASE buy Andrew Flintoff.
PLEASE buy Andrew Flintoff. Hes one of the best bowlers and like we know more than just a handy batsman. We just need him. Then unleash Flintoff, Gilly, Gibbs, Symonds along with Rohit Sharma, Venu , Ravi Teja, Laxman. We'll have a decent bowling line up too. So Please get FREDDIE. If its the same team next year like the one we had this year with the insipid bowling attack of ours, you can be rest assured we'll have the same results next year too. And do try making our team dress brighter. Its a lil dull. All the best.
I think for the next season
I think for the next season the IPL should change the format a bit to accomodate at least one more foriegn player in each starting line up...
maybe change the semi final and final to like a top three go into a separate league and play each other once with the leader of that league winning the game.... it could back fire... but it cud be kool =D
also... i think the purple and organe caps shud be based on the league matches only and not the finals and semis... that way everyone gets a fair chance...
I don't think any changes r
I don't think any changes r required if any thin has to get change than it shld be the bowlin line up for the DC!!!
next season we need to get a
next season we need to get a real good fast bowler maybe some one like jerome taylor or fiedel edwards or simone jones so do it.what we were missing was a geniune fast bowler.

Hyderabad stands fourth but look at the difference between DC & chennai & rajasthan. They are ahead by only 12-14 runs but the difference in points is 18-20.
Now look at the number of wickets taken by each team.
1.Kings Punjab-97
2.Mumbai-95
3.Rajasthan-94
4.Delhi-83
5.Chennai-87
6.Kolkata-70
7.Hyderabad-67
8.Bangalote-65
Our bowling is weak out of the 67 wickets or so Hyderabad has taken around 15 wickets are taken by RP singh who has shown some worst performances in this tornament at crutial stages. If I am not wrong he has the worst bowling figures in the entire IPL. Some 59 runs given in 4 overs in a match.
For the next addition of IPL we should concentrate on bowling department and develop allrounders.
u are absolutely right
u are absolutely right Deccan Chargers should develop allrounders even improve their batting performance , bowling .
The thing happening is we are not consistent in our batting.

I am from Lahore Pakistan and DC was the team I was rooting for. Mainly because I love power hitters and DC had got the best of the lot in Gilly, Symonds, Gibbs, Afridi & Co. But unfortunately, the inaugral season of IPL has been a big disappointment for DC fans. But, there we should look forward to IPL 2009 and hope that our team will plan well for the next year.
Here are my two cents on what went wrong and what could be done for the next season.
We didn't have a quality bowling attack which is vital in any format of the game. Every other team had atleast one or two good strike bowlers which could get wickets in crucial moments. I think the fast bowling dept. needs a boast and i would suggest the DC franchise owners to look into the upcoming fast bowlers from Pakistan. There are two names i would like to put up here, Sohail Khan and Wahab Riaz. Sohail is in the mold of Akhtar and bowls at a fiery pace with a smooth run up and action. Wahab is a left arm fast bowler who hits the deck hard and bowls around 140kph. I reckon these two will be a permanent part of Pakistan pace battery so DC should try to get atleat one of these two. Also, somebody form Australia like Johnson could be a good choice as well.
Spinning department of OK with AFridi doing a decent job and Ojha getting better with every game. SO I don't think there is need to do anything esp in the spin dept.
Batting definately needs to be sorted out. I think on paper, DC has probably one of the best batting sides in the tournament but unfortunately they couldn't convert their talent into performences. I think the lack of form from Afridi and Gibbs hit us hard. Had these two been in form, the results would have been different. Also, the loss of Symonds after 4 games was crucial as well. But the positives from batting were Rohit Sharma (a classical player) and Venu who showed how good a player he can be in the middle order.
So basically, there are a few things which needs to be looked into the batting and a couple of additions in the bowing department can really make the difference. I hope DC will be a force to reckon in the next IPL and will not lets the fans down!!! Cheers!
accurately said! we got all
accurately said! we got all the big guns but to no avail, the team mgt needs to observe some of the other teams and put togther a team that gels well, Having the likes of afridi /gibbs/symonds is not enough, They certainly need to play for the team and for a winning cause.
Bowling and fielding were a big concern( though batting wasn't great either ). We don't need the fastest centuries in the format, we need consistency delivering 25-30 runs n each and very game by 3-4 players. Rohit Sharma was a great example.
On the bowling front, certainly need to have a second look at the pace battery from Pakistan/Australia.
Still don't understand why Afridi wasn't asked to open in the power plays on more occasions.
