LOOKING AT THE WAY GIBBS HAS PERFORMED IN THE IPL SO FAR IN WHICH HE HAS GOT 6 DUCKS WHICH IS BY THE WAY MOST IN THIS YEARS IPL

Gibbs is a great hitter of the ball however is struggling with his form, Dwain Smith is in good form and most importantly he is a good finisher in crunch situations.
Taking VVS directly in the finals is not a good idea, I agree he is a vintage cricketer however we need more attacking batsman.

I agree Gibbs should be rested for the final and Smith be played in his place. And another important player we are missing is Laxman...his batting is invaluable in the middle order...he is better than Azhar/Raviteja in a final situation. The pressure will be too much to handle for the youngsters whereas Laxman is a proven perfomer in crunch situations. Hope the management considers Laxman for the final. Look at Dravid's performance in the semis against Chennai.

I TOTALLY AGREE SMITH WOULD HELP BOLSTER A STRONG MIDDLE ORDER WITH GICHRIST AND SUMAN AT THE TOP OF THE ORDER.GREAT MOVE IT WOULD BE IF IT HAPPENS.
